What is an Official Translation in Quito?
It is a translation that is usually delivered physically, of course, with the signature, stamp and oath of an official translator (expert translator) , who is registered and qualified in the Judicial Council of Ecuador .
Certified Translation in Quito:
It is the most used translation for visa applications, undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, job applications and information documents in other languages.
Note: Certified Translations can also be done digitally using an electronic signature.
Notarized translation in Quito:
The legalization of foreign documents in Ecuador is carried out with a Certified Translation and a Notarial Service. It is required that the documents be apostilled or legalized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin.
Apostilled translation in Quito:
- First, we carry out a certified translation in addition to a signature and translation recognition at a public notary. Lastly, we head over to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to carry out legalization or apostille services.
- Many public or private entities abroad request notarized or apostilled translations. These entities have the last word on the type of translation and the way they require documents presented.
What is the difference between a general translation and an official translation?
Unlike the official translation, the general translation is delivered in editable text, for example, in word or excel files. The general translation becomes official when it contains an affidavit, signature and seal of a translator accredited by the Judicial Council of Ecuador , in many casesthe translation may include a QRcode for online verification .
These requirements are met when a translation is accompanied by a translation affidavit with translator’s verification URL .
The expert translator of the Judicial Council is the only one authorized to perform an affidavit to a translation, as a result, the documents are accepted in all public notaries of Ecuador , notaries of the embassies of Spain and the United States in Ecuador, and Embassies and Consulates of Ecuador in Foreign countries.
