What is a localization in translation?

According to LISA (Localization Industry Standards Association) translation localization involves making modifications or adaptations to the original to create new content that can be understood in the culture where it intends to be delivered.

From this definition, it is understood that localization is not only translation but also taking into account the cultural aspects of the country in which the message will be divulged, as well as other functional and technical aspects. For example, if you were to distribute a program in an Arab country, it should be noted that the writing is done from right to left. The location is the one that carries out the relevant modifications.
