What is the difference between a consecutive interpretation and a simultaneous interpretation?
The main difference between a consecutive interpretation and a simultaneous interpretationis the time in which the interpreter reproduces the translated speech in the language of the listeners, consecutive interpretation means verbal translation after speaker, simultaneous interpretation means the speech and the spoken translation will occur at the same time, due to the characteristics of simultaneous interpretation it is commonly accompanied with translation equipment such as interpreting booths and audio-visual equipment.
How are professional interpretations quoted?
The language of interpretation is quoted in relation to the language in which the speaker will deliver the presentation and the listener language, this parameter is multiplied by the number of hours of interpretation duration and the number of interpreters required for the service, in addition in the case of the simultaneous interpretation further translation equipment will be needed, so these will also be added to the quotation.
